Grapefruit Warmer

//Grapefruits are in season between October and May, and are marked by a bright and complex flavor.  I enjoy them in their simplest form with a bit of warmth on these chilly days.  They can also be eaten with a drop of yogurt on top for a more filling endeavor.

Grapefruit Warmer

Serves 1

One large Grapefruit

Hot Water

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cut grapefruit in half, put on a baking sheet, and place in the oven.  Bake for around 10 minutes until the top of the grapefruit half begins to swell.  Remove from the oven and enjoy.

While eating the juicy flesh of the grapefruit, begin bringing water to a boil.  When you have finished eating the grapefruit, squeeze extra juice into a mug.  Once water has boiled, pour into mug with grapefruit juice.  Sit back and enjoy the second half of your winter warmer.
